After the presentation on the web portal and the mobile application, Mr Ken gave us some feedback. He mention that we should change the design of the web portal making both the system look synchronize as it will give an impression that both system are for different purposes. Besides that, he also suggested to add a geo location search in the mobile application if we had the time.

Loong Sheng started by presenting the web portal to Mr Ken. Then Jacqueline continue with the mobile application. Mr Ken gave us some feedback based on what we have presented and requested some changes in both systems. Besides that, he suggested that all of us come up with a project name and logo to represent the project.

I started by presenting the web portal to Mr Ken and Ms Robina. I was not able to deliver the duty roster and resource planning functions in this checkpoint because it is still in the process of development. Mr Ken advised me to focus on both the duty roster and resource planning functions because there were the more important functions in the whole system. He gave me some ideas to interpret the duty roster in the system. He also mention that I need to change the design of the web portal to synchronize with the mobile application.

During the checkpoint, I presented the mobile application to Mr Ken. I started my explaining the flow of the program then continued to explain each page icons’ function. I am still working on the search by location function in the application. Mr Ken requested to change the wordings in some of the pages. Before the meeting ends, he asked us to come up with a project name and logo.

Participants: Ms Robina (lecturer), Ken (Client), Jacqueline Tan Suet Ping, Jax Lee Loong Sheng, Alan Chow Wing Lun, Yap Wei Tian

 

The group presented the mobile application and web portal to Mr Ken and Ms Robina starting with the web portal. The web portal is still in the progress of developing, functions like duty roster and resource planning are not completed. Mr Ken’s feedback for the system is to focus on the finishing the functions and to synchronize the design of the web portal and mobile. It is to give the user that both applications are for the same system.

The meeting continued by having Jacqueline present the mobile application. The application is installed into an Android phone before the meeting. Jacqueline presented the flow of the mobile application and explain each page’s function. The search by location function is still in the progress. There are a few minor changes Mr Ken requested the group to change like the text and the colour theme. Besides that, he suggest the group to come up with a project name and also a logo to represent the project.

 

The next meeting is to be confirm.

We gathered for a meeting today to have a final update on all the parts from the members before the checkpoint with Mr Ken and Ms Robina. The application and web portal is gone through page by page to make sure there were no errors or spelling mistake in it.

This is the final meeting before the check point with Mr Ken. The group went through both the mobile and web portal system. Starting with the mobile, the group go through it page by page to ensure there were no mistakes on the spelling and the links. The functions are also checked to make sure it executed its intended function. Then, continued to the web portal. The web portal main function like the duty roster and resources planning is in development. The group decided to leave out the unfinished functions and proceed to the finished ones. Create and edit promotion, create and edit staff, booking functions is completed.

 

The next meeting is on 24th March 2016 (Checkpoint 2).

 

16th March 2016

I have posted the survey question and have asked friends and family to complete the survey. I have analyze and arrange the data that I collected from the surveys, then produced a report. The report is then attached to the final documentation.

15th March 2016

I am finalizing all the functions in the system except for the duty roster and the resource planning. Making sure all the functions work properly as it is. After that, I continued working on the duty roster.
